Crude Palm Oil (CPO)
Extracted from the outer flesh of fresh palm fruits, CPO is used as a raw material for refined palm oil, biodiesel production, and as an ingredient in animal feed.
Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO)
Extracted from the kernel of palm fruits, CPKO is used as a raw material for refined palm kernel oil, in cosmetics, soaps, food products, and biodiesel production.
Refine Palm Oil (RPO)
Produced by refining crude palm oil, RPO is widely used in cooking, processed foods, cosmetics, and industrial products.
Refined Palm Kernel Oil (RPKO)
Produced by refining crude palm kernel oil, RPKO is used in the food industry for making shortening, margarine, and Cocoa Butter Equivalents (CBE), as well as in manufacturing oleochemical products like fatty alcohol.
Refined Palm Olein (ROL)
Produced by removing palm stearin from refined palm oil, leaving only the olein. Commonly used for consumption and ideal for deep frying and stir-frying.
Refined Palm Stearin (RST)
Extracted from refined palm oil, RST is used in margarine, shortening, soaps, oleochemical and biodiesel production, and as an ingredient in animal feed.
Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD)
A by-product of refining crude palm oil, PFAD is a type of free fatty acid used in making acid soaps and as a raw material in the oleochemical industry.
Kernel Meal (KM)
Produced by crushing palm kernels, KM is primarily used as a raw material in the animal feed industry.
Palm Kernel Fatty Acid Distillate
(PKFAD)
A clear yellowish-brown by-product, PKFAD is used as a raw material in the production of laundry soap, oleochemicals, and biodiesel.
Packaging
Steel Drum
The standard drum size generally holds about 200 litres or roughly 180 kg, and a 20-foot container can typically carry up to 80 drums.
Plastic Drum
Coconut oil can also be packaged in plastic drums with a capacity of 200 litres or around 180 kg. Since plastic drums are generally more cost-effective than steel drums, they present a more economical option for coconut oil buyers.
Flexi-Bag
Flexi-bags are widely used for bulk packaging of RBD coconut oil. Each flexi-bag can hold up to 21.5 metric tons in a 20-foot container, making it the most cost-efficient solution for businesses that require large volumes of oil. The bag is designed to expand, maximizing the available container space.
IBC Tote
Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) are cube-shaped, making them more space-efficient than traditional round drums. Similar to Flexi-bags and Bag-in-Box (BIB) packaging, IBCs come with a bottom drain for easy coconut oil extraction.
A standard 20-foot container can typically hold up to 18 IBC totes or 20 paper IBCs.
Paper Tote
A Paper IBC is a cube-shaped bulk container made of durable corrugated cardboard with a plastic liner inside. Its lightweight, eco-friendly, and cost-effective, making it ideal for transporting liquids like palm oil. A heating pad can also be added to maintain the oils fluidity during unloading.
BIB (Bag-in-Box)
bulk packaging solution with a food-grade plastic bag inside a cardboard box, featuring a bottom valve for easy dispensing. Its lightweight, space-efficient, and can include a heating pad to keep liquids like oil fluid.
Jerrycan
A jerry can is a durable, portable container (usually 525L) used for storing and transporting oil fluid.
PET Bottle - Glass Container
PET Bottle / Glass Container refers to packaging options for smaller quantities of liquids.
PET Bottle: Lightweight, shatter-resistant, and cost-effective.
Glass Container: Heavier but preserves quality and offers a premium appearance.
Both are suitable for retail or consumer-sized portions.
